Solutions for Energy Management & Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in ICT field – Free webinar towards efficient ICT energy management.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is becoming ever more wide-spread and present in our daily life, with consequently higher demands in terms of energy consumption. This has a tremendous impact both on the environment and on energy costs and ultimately, affects the overall competitivity of organisations.
Energy efficiency has become the catchphrase of the early 21st century. Modern society must become wiser when consuming energy for their ICT, despite the increase in its demand. The goal is to “do more with less”. The question is, “how is that possible”?
Is it possible to improve how we manage energy in ICT?
The answer is “Yes”, there are many ways to become smarter on how we manage the energy we need when using ICT. In fact, becoming sustainable in ICT doesn’t necessarily mean that we should only focus on the energy consumed by ICT. We should also take into account the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of all ICT components, that is, analyse the environmental impact associated with all the stages of a product's life, from raw material extraction, through material processing, manufacture, distribution, use, repair and maintenance, and disposal or recycling.
Sustainability in ICT is a topic with lots of potential and options to address. ICTFOOTPRINT.eu is here to help you to make your ICT more sustainable.
ICTFOOTPRINT.eu is organising a new webinar on the 27th of April, 12:00 PM CEST to help you manage the energy consumed by ICT and know how LCA can guide you to make it more sustainable.
The webinar will give key information about some options available to monitor energy management performance, not only in data centres but also on office equipment. Plus, the webinar will show how LCA are useful towards a sustainable ICT.
Who are our Speakers?
Jean-Marc Alberola, Group Energy Strategy leader at Airbus & Vice Chairman of ETSI ISG OEU (Industry Specification Group Operational Energy Efficiency For Users): will explain KPIs developed by ETSI that help users monitor the energy management performance in ICT sites and data centres.
Fadri Casty & Tereza Lévová: Head of Sales & Environmental Engineer at EcoInvent: will demonstrate the value of doing LCA on ICT equipment.
Berina Delalic, Component Leader at multEE project will introduce the Monitoring & Verification Platform (MVP), that allows measurement of energy consumed in ICT, enhancing the sustainability of ICT, while generating cost savings.
The webinar will be moderated by Silvana Muscella, CEO at Trust-IT Services and member of The Green Grid, a non-profit organisation that promotes resource efficiency in ICT. She has experience on tackling high-level strategy building, coordination, strategic marketing and communication development in ICT, namely energy efficiency.
The 1 hour webinar is free and open to all.
