Osamu Namikawa (Hitachi - Japan) on energy efficiency & ICTFOOTPRINT.eu
Osamu Namikawa works for the Environment Policy Division, Information & Telecommunication Systems at Hitachi in Japan, where he is responsible for environmentally conscious design and environmental standardisation.
During the “End-user requirements gathering & validation” meeting at the European Commission in May 2016, Osamu also brought to the table his experiences in working with DG Environment on carbon footprint with experiments on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and CO2 variations.In his view, one of the most important things in the drive towards a greener economy is to show consumers and stakeholders the results that come from addressing energy efficiency.

Osama is a member of the ICTFOOTPRINT.eu External Advisory Board, a group of highly qualified, international experts dedicated to improving energy efficiency in ICT. ICTFOOTPRINT.eu aims to help European ICT organisation in addressing their needs regarding carbon footprint and energy consumption, by raising awareness on metrics, methodologies and best practices in addressing these challenges.
