DC4Cities
DC4Cities is an initiative supported by the FP7 Program from the European Commission. The goal is to work as an incentive for existing and new data centres to implement energy policies capable of:
- Adapting their power consumption to the availability of renewable energy;
- Being adapted to the requests received by the Smart City Energy Management authority.
In this context, existing metrics are complemented with new ones, able to better capture the relation between energy used and amount of services delivered by a data centre, or the effective use of available renewable energy.
