ICTFOOTPRINT.eu at EUSEW
The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) will take place between 4th and 8th June, in Brussels (Belgium). The EUSEW is the most important European conference dedicated to sustainable energy policy issues. Sessions organised by the European Commission and energy stakeholders debate new policy developments, best practices and sustainable energy ideas, while networking events forge alliances.
EUSEW is an opportunity to meet stakeholders promoting energy efficiency and renewable energies, learn about successful policies and inspire innovation to meet the EU’s energy and climate goals.
The EUSEW brings together public authorities, energy agencies, industry associations, businesses, civil society organisations and the media, interested in policy developments, best practices, initiatives and ideas that support Europe’s move towards clean, secure and efficient power as part of the Energy Union.
ICTFOOTPRINT.eu will be at EUSEW on 6th June with a booth where attendees can gain more detailed information on green ICT services. All those interested in getting competitive advantages thanks to energy efficiency and low levels of carbon footprint in ICT are welcome to join us.
There is a pressing need for the European ICT sector to become energy efficient and sustainable. ICT industry accounts for approximately 2 percent of global CO2 emissions, a figure equivalent to aviation. With 10 million SMEs in the EU, ICT can save up to €600 billion & decrease 15% of carbon emissions in 2020, by becoming energy efficient.
EUSEW attendees can join ICTFOOTPRINT.eu booth at the EUSEW Energy Fair, taking place at the Residence Palace (Rue de la Loi 175, 1000 Brussels). This is a unique opportunity for visitors to know about ICTFOOTPRINT.eu free services, which help ICT organisations and cities in getting competitive advantages and energy savings thanks to green ICT.
The Self-Assessment Tool for Organisations (SAT-O) is a useful, free, quick and easy-to-use tool to estimate the carbon and energy footprint of your organisation, including for instance the footprint derived from your equipment’s whole life (from production to keeping it up and running to its dismission) and caused by business travel and commuting.
There is also the ICTFOOTPRINT.eu Green Marketplace, the online meeting point to find ICT sustainable suppliers & showcase green services provided for sustainability in ICT.
